The "Near Miss"
It would be an understatement to say that everyone residing along the varied coasts of Florida were worried if not terrified when the massive hurricane named Dorian spun in the islands & proceeded to destroy most buildings on Grand Bahama Island.
Kennedy Space Center closed and sent all workers home.
Airports were closed, grocery stores & petro stations sold out (all normal for Florida hurricanes)
And just like Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Matthew we put up the hurricane window coverings and prepared our outside garage to act as a combination Noah's Ark and tornado shelter for our birds.
We waited as long as we felt safe and then herded or carried the birds inside. It would be an understatement to say the animals were not happy however they did not have a satelite view of the monster storm dismantling homes in the flooded islands.
